Yasitha De Silva and Anjalika Kurera were the standout performers at the Mercantile Tennis Championships, leading MAS Holdings to the top spot as overall champions with 76,978 points, securing the Overall Championship for the ninth consecutive year at the prize-giving ceremony held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association Headquarters.
Both players had exceptional performances, each winning triple titles. De Silva claimed the Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles (with Mark Seneviratne), and Mixed Doubles (with Kurera), while Kurera triumphed in the Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles (with Tarah Greig), and Mixed Doubles (with De Silva). Their outstanding performances were key to MAS Holding’s dominant victory.
Lanka Minerals and Chemicals Pvt Ltd finishing as runners-up with 27,080 points, while Acuity Knowledge Partners Pvt Ltd secured third place with 17,400 points.
In addition to De Silva and Kurera’s successes, Sanka Athukorala of Lanka Minerals & Chemicals won the Men’s Over 35 Singles title, and Ganendran Subramaniam of MAS Holding secured both the Men’s Over 45 and Over 55 Singles titles. The Men’s Over 35 Doubles was claimed by Sanka Athukorala and M U Bopitiya, while Aruna Seneviratne and Rajiv Casie Chetty won the Men’s Over 45 and 55 Doubles title for Commercial Credit & Finance PLC.
The event concluded with a ceremony where the President of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association, Iqbal Bin Issack, handed over the championship trophy to the MAS Holding team, led by Captain Yasitha De Silva and Anjalika Kurera.
