The Public Health Inspectors’ Union stated that nearly 15,000 Vesak Dansals have been registered across Sri Lanka ahead of the Vesak festival.
PHIU Secretary Chamil Muthukuda urged organisers to follow health guidelines due to the spread of several infectious diseases.
Meanwhile, Vesak pandals, lanterns and Vesak zones are being set up in many parts of the country, with vendors noting an increase in sales this year despite higher prices.
