Gem Sri Lanka 2026 was inaugurated by chief guest Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya yesterday January 7 at Shangri-La Colombo. It will continue till January 9

Gem Sri Lanka 2026 is organized by the Ceylon Gem and Jewellery Traders Association. Sunil Handunneththi, Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rizvie Salih, Members of Parliament, senior government officials, ambassadors, industry leaders, and international delegates graced the occasion.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the official launch of the Gem Sri Lanka publication, a historic volume reflecting the legacy, craftsmanship, and global stature of Sri Lanka’s Gem industry.

Following the opening, Dr Amarasuriya visited the exhibition booths and engaged in discussions with industry stakeholders and gem and jewellery manufacturers.
