As of 8 May 2026, the Sri Lankan Rupee has depreciated by 3.6% against the US Dollar so far this year, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
The Central Bank’s daily exchange rate bulletin released today (11 May) showed the buying rate of the US Dollar at Rs. 318.03 and the selling rate at Rs. 325.64. The indicative rate of the USD/LKR spot exchange rate was recorded at Rs. 321.87.
This is the highest rupee value per US dollar recorded since 16 January 2024.
