The Department of Immigration and Emigration announced that special screening measures will be implemented for individuals arriving in Sri Lanka from nations associated with cybercrime activities.
Controller General Pathiraja stated that authorities will conduct heightened monitoring of travelers from countries where foreign nationals have previously been arrested for cybercrimes.
At Bandaranaike International Airport, officials will verify the purpose of entry to ensure that visitors are arriving for legitimate tourism or authorised reasons.
Additionally, police and immigration officers are conducting separate inspections on tourists already within the country to prevent cybercriminal activities.
Pathiraja emphasized that any individuals found to be involved in cybercrimes will face deportation and legal action will be taken against them.
