SLIIT’s Faculty of Computing has a diverse student population of over 13,000 and growing and stands as the largest and most vibrant in the country, offering a comprehensive portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programs that align with national priorities and global market demands.

Recognized for its academic excellence and industry relevance, SLIIT has earned its place among the country’s top-ranked institutions. According to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, SLIIT holds joint third place nationally, The Faculty of Computing has been ranked among the top two in the country and placed in the 1001+ band globally by the THE 2025 World University Rankings in Computer Science, while its programs are accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)asserting leadership in research, innovation, and academic performance.

Today, SLIIT offers a range of specialized four-year honours degrees in fields such as Information Technology, specializing in areas including Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems Engineering, Computer Systems and Network Engineering, Interactive Media, and Cyber Security. Additionally, degrees in Computer Science and Computer Systems Engineering are also available.

With a team of 200+ academic staff including over 11 professors and 32 PhD holders, SLIIT proudly affirms the expertise, dedication & efficiency of in-house staff.
