Bank of Ceylon (BOC) has received accolades for its products and services, the latest of these were received at the BestWeb.LK Awards 2024, where the bank’s website was celebrated for its outstanding design, functionality and user experience.
BOC secured the titles of ‘Most Popular Banking Website’ and ‘Best Banking Website (Bronze)’, strengthening its position as a leader in the digital banking sector.
The awards ceremony took place recently, at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo, where the awards were received by the Chief Marketing Officer, Sameera Liyanage, accompanied by the dedicated teams from Marketing, IT and Product Development & BPRP.

The Bank of Ceylon website has been recognised for its exceptional features that cater to a diverse and evolving customer base. The site boasts a refreshed and clutter-free design, ensuring an improved user experience.
BOC has taken notable measures to make its website accessible and inclusive, offering content in all three of Sri Lanka’s official languages English, Sinhala and Tamil. The website is also fully mobile-responsive, enabling seamless access across various devices and the site views exceed 10 million, with over 3.9 million active users annually.
Moreover, the integration of the branch network and touch points with Google Maps provides customers with real-time, convenient access to BOC’s extensive service network across the country. The BestWeb.LK Awards, organised by the LK Domain Registry since 2009, is a competition that recognises excellence in web design and development. Now in its fourteenth edition, the awards celebrate the creativity and technical expertise of participants, judged by a panel of industry experts. Public voting also plays a key role, allowing users to have their say in the selection process.
