SLT-MOBITEL, the National ICT Solutions Provider, announced it has signed a five-year exclusive agreement as digital services provider with the Singhalese Sports Club (SSC), recognised as among the most prestigious sports clubs in the country. As per the agreement, entire communication network of SSC will be converted to Fibre to deliver super-fast Voice, Internet, and PEOTV services to the club and its tenants.
The Agreement was ceremonially signed recently by Janaka Abeysinghe- CEO/SLT and I.S. De Silva, -President/SSC. Several senior officers of both SLT and SSC participated the event.
Addressing the gathering, Janaka R Abeysinghe, CEO of SLT stated, “This is the beginning of a long-term mutually beneficial business relationship between two esteemed institutions as we hope to introduce digital solutions for all activities at the SSC.”
SLT-MOBITEL Fibre services will provide a truly immersive experience for SSC members as well as visitors, delivering the best connectivity at unbeatable speeds.
I.S. De Silva, President SSC, added, “We are extremely pleased to tie up with a telecommunication giant such as SLT-MOBITEL to fulfil our communication needs. We firmly believe that SLT-MOBITEL’s advanced technologies will provide our membership a novel experience.”
The agreement is also aligned with SLT-MOBITEL’s aspirations of rolling out its accelerated Fibre program and delivering fibre broadband technology to over 2 million households by 2023.
Founded in 1899, Singhalese Sports Club (SCC) has existed for more than 120 years as one of the most prestigious sports clubs in the country. Located in the plush residential quarter of Cinnamon Gardens in the heart of Colombo, SCC has over 6,000 members and also maintains reciprocal memberships with cricket clubs overseas.
