Sri Lanka’s national carrier is gearing up for a leadership change, with SriLankan Airlines officially on the lookout for a new chief executive officer (CEO) to guide the airline through its next phase of transformation.
In a recently published job advertisement, the airline’s board of directors announced its search for a “dynamic and visionary leader”, who can navigate the challenges of the aviation industry, while building on the airline’s “proud legacy”.
The position is currently held by aviation industry veteran Richard Nuttall, who brings over three decades of experience to the role. However, SriLankan is now seeking a fresh face to take the helm.
The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of senior management experience in a recognised international airline, with a strong grasp of commercial aviation, flight operations, service delivery, engineering and maintenance. Prior experience as a CEO of an airline or a large-scale organisation would be a significant advantage, a job advertisement placed by SriLankan Airlines said.
While the preferred age limit is 55 years by the end of this month, the airline has indicated that this won’t be a dealbreaker for an exceptional candidate. The position is open to both Sri Lankans and international applicants and will be offered on a fixed-term contract basis.
