Noordeen takes top spot at inaugural HNB Legacy Open

Noordeen Sethwala emerged as the Overall Winner at the HNB Legacy Open, held recently at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club. Sethwala also claimed victory in Division ‘A’. In Division ‘B’, Priyanga Hapugalle took home the title, while Nadesan Krishna Kumar secured victory in Division ‘C’.

The Ladies Division saw Sri Lanka Golf Secretary Anouk Chitty emerged as the champion, while Raju A. Chandiram triumphed in the Senior Division.

The HNB Legacy Open marked a milestone for HNB as it was the bank’s first independently organised golf tournament of this scale. After supporting the Millennium Trophy with the Royal Colombo Golf Club for over a decade, HNB took a bold step forward by hosting this event at the scenic Nuwara Eliya Golf Club.

HNB’s Acting CEO, Damith Pallewatte, presented the Overall Winner, Noordeen Sethwala, with a return air ticket to Singapore. He expressed his delight, saying, “The inaugural HNB Legacy Open has exceeded our expectations.

This event celebrates not only exceptional golfing talent but also our commitment to creating unique experiences for our valued Private Banking clients.

We are excited to see how future tournaments will continue to foster connections and provide exclusive moments on and off the course.” (SJ)
