ITC Ratnadipa Presents Shifu’s Apprentice this December with Chef Liang and Chef Prithvi at Yi Jing
ITC Ratnadipa announces the launch of Shifu’s Apprentice, an exclusive à la carte dining experience led by Chef Liang and his apprentice, Chef Prithvi, taking place at Yi Jing from 10th to 21st December 2025, from 6.30 PM onwards. Shifu’s Apprentice draws its inspiration from the traditional master–student relationship at the heart of classical Chinese cooking and in this spirit, the showcase brings together a celebrated master chef and his emerging protégé, offering a menu shaped by both heritage and the discipline of learning passed from one generation to the next.
Chef Liang brings more than forty years of experience in Chinese cuisine, shaped by a career that began when he was just 19. His cooking is guided by memories of the simple, comforting flavours he grew up with, especially the aroma of sizzling rice and the clean, fresh notes of Cantonese food. Over the years, he has worked across Asia, building a reputation for honest, well-balanced dishes that stay true to regional traditions. Now, as he mentors the next generation, Chef Prithvi works closely alongside him, preparing to take on the culinary leadership of Yi Jing at ITC Ratnadipa. Shifu’s Apprentice marks an important step as they together form a natural partnership: a master who has spent decades refining his craft, and a young chef learning how to carry that legacy and knowledge forward.

The à la carte menu will feature a selection of signature creations including cold spicy flat noodles shan xi style, black truffle prawn dumpling, sichuan flavoured seabass, and stir-fried lobster with tomato and eggs, offering guests an immersive experience that celebrates the quiet luxury of thoughtfully curated flavours.
