DSI launches 24th SUPERSPORT Schools Volleyball C’ship

DSI officially announced the launch of the 24th DSI SUPERSPORT Schools Volleyball Championship at a media briefing held at the Grand Maitland Hotel in Colombo on Tuesday (28).

As the nation’s leading footwear brand, DSI has partnered with the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF) and the Schools’ Volleyball Association of the Ministry of Education to organise the tournament, which continues to hold a significant place in the domestic game.

Initiated by DSI in 1999 in collaboration with the SLVF and the Education Ministry, the Championship aims to provide opportunities and support to volleyball players from both rural and urban areas. It serves as a national platform for athletes to showcase their skills and progress to national and international levels.

Since its inception, the tournament has featured nearly 200 teams and contributed to the development of close to 400 sporting personalities. This year, organisers expect participation from around 3,500 teams across the country.

The tournament will feature Under-11, Under-13,Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 age categories for both boys and girls.

Matches will be conducted at district and national levels, with district matches scheduled on weekends from 10 June to 10 August. The national stage will be held from 1 to 5 October, with additional matches from 15 to 19 October. The finals are scheduled for 14 and 15 November.

Applications for the Championship will be available at all DSI showrooms nationwide. The application form can also be downloaded via the QR code on the official DSI SUPERSPORT Facebook page and through the official AVI website.

Completed applications should be submitted to the respective Zonal Education Director (Sports) on or before 20 May.
