Sri Lanka’s digital innovation trailblazer Arimac secured three national honours at the National AI Awards 2026, recognising achievements across AI leadership, banking and finance, and Sinhala and Tamil AI innovation. Co-Founder and CEO Chamira Jayasinghe received the National AI Leadership Excellence Award, recognising his contribution to advancing AI-led innovation and technology transformation in Sri Lanka.
The company also received Gold for Best AI Solution in
Banking, Finance & Insurance under the Industry & Sector Excellence
Awards, while its work in local-language technology earned Silver for Best
Sinhala/Tamil AI & Localisation Innovation under the Innovation &
Future-Focused Awards.
The recognition follows a series of Arimac AI
deployments that have delivered measurable business outcomes, including
a 32% reduction in cost-to-serve per enquiry, lead response times reduced from
four hours to three minutes, and the deployment of more than 100 AI agents
across selected international operations. These outcomes demonstrate the
practical application of AI across commercial environments, particularly in
sectors where speed, accuracy and reliability are critical.
Jayasinghe’s recognition also reflects a track record of taking AI from
research and experimentation into commercial deployment across banking,
telecommunications, aviation and customer operations. His work has included the
development of Arimac’s AgentOS platform for agentic operations, AIDAS for
Sinhala and Tamil conversational AI, and Sherlock, an AI-powered fraud
intelligence and eKYC platform for financial services.
Commenting on the recognition, Jayasinghe said, “For me, the most meaningful part of this recognition is seeing what is being built in Sri Lanka recognised at a national level. We have exceptional technology talent here, and when that talent is given the opportunity to work on meaningful problems, there is no reason why solutions developed in Sri Lanka cannot compete on a global stage. AI is creating a new opportunity for countries like ours to move beyond simply adopting technology to actually building it. That is the opportunity I believe we need to pursue.”
Under Jayasinghe’s leadership, Arimac has expanded its work across multiple industries and international markets, with offices in Sri Lanka, Dubai, Sydney and Fiji supporting its global client base, while continuing to invest in locally developed technology and digital talent. The company has delivered more than 850 solutions for over 112 clients across more than 20 industries, reaching more than 330 million users globally. Furthermore, he has continued to support initiatives focused on technology entrepreneurship, innovation and the development of Sri Lanka’s next generation of digital professionals.
