Thambapanni Leisure expands to Brisbane and Hanoi

Riding on its success after acquiring and opening a restaurant in Australia adjoining the Gabba Stadium, in Brisbane, (Coco Gabba) Thambapanni Leisure, a hotel chain based in Unawatuna with over 100 star class keys has now expanded their global footprint in Hanoi Vietnam.

This via a partnership with SIRIUS Holdings based out of Australia. The two joint investors, Founder Chairman, Thambapanni Leisure, Prashan Dissanayake and CEO SIRUS Holdings of Australia, Isuru Yapa said that most of the Vietnam people like to dine out and it is to cater to this market segment they branched out to Vietnam and opened Mano Italian Restaurant. Our venture is an Italian restaurant which could accommodate around 200 guests and we have also obtained the services of experienced Sri Lanka originated Italian Chef, Manju Prikankara for this venture. The Coco Gabba in Brisbane operating under a different management was shut down after the COVID -19 pandemic and we saw the opportunity and acquired this and re-operated it. “Today it could accommodate around 200 guests. He said that these two ventures are very successful and they hope to open more restaurants in Brisbane and Vietnam by the end of the first quarter of 2025.

He said that through these ventures they also want to spread the message that there are several opportunities for local hospitality sector companies to branch out of Sri Lanka and invest. They also said that they also hope to diversify to the real estate segment in Australia soon. (SS)
