Sri Lanka Standards Institution Contributes LKR 50 Million Dividends to Treasury

The Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) presented a dividend cheque of LKR 50 million to the Treasury of Sri Lanka on 08th Feb 2024, reflecting its strong financial performance in 2022. This contribution signifies the institution's commitment to supporting national development and economic growth.

The cheque was presented by Hon. Kanaka Herath, State Minister of Technology, Dr Dharmasri Kumaratunge, Secretary to the Ministry of Technology, Dr. Asanga Ranasinghe, Chairman of SLSI, , Dr. Siddhika Senaratne, Director General of SLSI  to Hon. Shehan Semasinghe & Deputy Secretary to the treasury DST Mr Sarath Kumara.

The SLSI achieved remarkable financial performance in 2022, generating a total revenue of LKR 969 million and a net profit of LKR 176 million. As per its mandate, the institution distributes 30% of its net profit as dividends to the Treasury, contributing directly to the government's financial resources.

This dividend payment underscores SLSI's commitment to fulfilling its mandate while generating financial returns for the government. The institution's continued success will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of products and services in Sri Lanka, promoting economic growth, and enhancing the well-being of all citizens.
