SLTB begins fuel supply to private buses via depot network

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has started providing fuel to private buses through its extensive depot network across the country.

SLTB Chairman Sujeewa Kanakaratne announced that fuel distribution will be available at 103 out of the 107 depots nationwide, ensuring broader access for private bus operators.

He emphasised that only buses registered with the National Transport Commission (NTC) and currently in operation are eligible to receive fuel under this new system.

Private bus owners are advised to verify their vehicles’ registration status with either the NTC or the respective Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authorities before attempting to obtain fuel.

Once verified, eligible operators can collect fuel for their vehicles from designated SLTB depots, facilitating smoother operations for private transportation providers amid ongoing fuel distribution efforts.
