Community Medical Specialist Dr. Prashila Samaraweera said 39 high‑risk Medical Officer of Health divisions have been identified, with the highest number of cases reported from the Western Province, followed by the Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces.
She noted that patients have been reported from all 25 districts, with Colombo, Gampaha, Ratnapura, Matara, Galle, Kalutara, and Kandy recording the highest figures.
Dr. Prashila Samaraweera added that entomological surveys have revealed that dengue is spreading more in schools, government institutions, workplaces, and religious sitesd, with the highest number of cases reported from the Western Province, followed by the Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces.
