85President Anura Kumara Dissanayake attended the opening of the new Batticaloa Public Library building today (20).
Former MP M. A. Sumanthiran officially declared the library open, while the President also launched the library’s official website.
According to the President’s Media Division, the new facility includes a separate unit focused on scientific and technological knowledge for children.
The President noted that the project had previously remained incomplete and highlighted the importance of preserving reading culture in the country.
