Mahinda in control as Dangamuwa smashes 200

Mahinda College, Galle, took command against St. Thomas’ College, Matara, at close of Day Two in the Under-19 Division One Tier B Inter-School Cricket semi-final at MRICS Sooriyawewa yesterday.

After winning the toss, Mahinda College opted to field first, bowling out St. Thomas’ for 140. Arosha Udayanga claimed 5 wickets for 42 runs.

In response, Mahinda College posted a commanding 373 in 91.2 overs. Right-hander Senuka Dangamuwa smashed 200 off 153 deliveries, hitting 24 boundaries and 8 sixes. Opener Dulsith Darshana fell just short of his third century of the season, scoring 96 off 190 balls with 9 boundaries.

At stumps on Day Two, St. Thomas’ were 75 for 5, trailing by 158. Udayanga added two more wickets to his tally.

The match continues today (21) on Day Three.
