Global gold and silver prices surge

Gold and silver prices have risen sharply in the global market, with gold crossing the $4,600 mark and silver exceeding $84 per ounce.

Reflecting the international trend, gold prices in Sri Lanka increased by Rs. 3,000 today (12).

Consequently, a sovereign of 22-carat gold is now priced at Rs. 337,600, while 24-carat gold has reached Rs. 365,000.
