FITIS re-elects Rajapakse as Chairperson

The Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) has re-elected Dayan Rajapakse as Chairperson for a second consecutive year, as the country’s apex ICT industry body looks to align private sector activity with Sri Lanka’s Digital Economy 2030 agenda.

Rajapakse was unanimously re-elected at the FITIS Annual General Meeting held on 22 April. The meeting was attended by Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy Waruna Sri Dhanapala, reflecting the sector’s focus on closer coordination between the Government and technology industry.

FITIS said its priorities for the year ahead would include capacity building, infrastructure expansion, digital trust, innovation support, and stronger policy engagement. The organisation is expected to continue working with the Ministry of Digital Economy on initiatives linked to national digital transformation and the growth of local technology enterprises.

The newly appointed board represents key segments of the ICT industry, including infrastructure, software, education and training, digital services, and digital trust.

LankaPay Chief Executive Officer Channa De Silva was appointed Senior Vice Chairperson, while SRIQ Corporation Co-Founder, Director, and Chief Executive Officer Thariq Sanoon was appointed Vice Chairperson. Former FITIS Chairperson Indika De Zoysa, Strategic Adviser and Vice President at Huawei Technologies Lanka, will serve as Past Chairperson, while Debug Group of Companies Managing Director Abbas Kamrudeen will serve as Advisor to the Board.

The Chapter Presidents include Hasalaka De Silva for ICT Infrastructure, Rikaz Moin for Software, Chaminda Ranasinghe for Education and Training, N. Udayakumar for Digital Services, and Indika Rajakaruna for Digital Trust.
