Experience This Ramadan with ‘Level Bite’, From His Table To Your TikTok Feed

As Sri Lanka joins millions across the world in celebrating the sacred month of Ramadan this February, a familiar rhythm returns; one of reflection, gratitude, unity, and shared humanity. Across towns and cities, families gather at sunset, mosques fill with prayer, and communities once again embrace the beauty of togetherness that defines this holy season. Yet beyond faith and tradition, there is one universal language that quietly binds everyone… not only the Muslim communities, but friends, neighbours, and families from every background.

Food. From lavish iftar buffets to humble bowls of kanji shared at roadside stalls, from intimate family dinners to bustling late-night suhoor spots, food during Ramadan goes miles beyond religion and community. It becomes an invitation to all communities around Sri Lanka to gather, to converse, to connect.

And at a time where digital platforms shape how we discover where to eat and meet, how powerful is it when that food becomes a bridge that is shared, recommended, and celebrated across screens and cities? Let’s ask Abdul Azeez!

You may know him from his popular TikTok page, Level Bite, a platform built on creative storytelling and an undeniable passion for honest food experiences. Throughout the year, Azeez explores restaurants, hidden gems, and dining concepts around Colombo. But this Ramadan, his mission feels deeper. Through Level Bite, Azeez is using his voice and his love for truthful food-based storytelling to guide Sri Lankans toward the places that deserve attention, while bringing communities closer.

From the Plate to the People

Level Bite did not begin with branding in mind. It began with his appetite and curiosity. Azeez has always been drawn to good food. Not the flashy kind alone, but the kind you hear about through word of mouth – that roadside ‘kade’ on a busy corner, a trendy Korean drink, trying something new. At first, his videos focused on what most food pages do: the plate, the presentation, the taste and of course, the price.

But soon, something shifted. Azeez found his attention drifting beyond the food itself. His focus moved from what was on the plate to the hands that served it and the hearts being filled around him. He began noticing the atmosphere (or ambience, as our beloved TikTokers would call it). The laughter at neighbouring tables, the service from the ‘bossa’ (our local waiters, of course!), the menus, the warmth…so much more. His mind would automatically assess pricing and value. But his heart and soul connected to something deeper: the quiet language behind food. Love. Warmth. Effort. Hospitality. That shift changed everything. Level Bite slowly became more than reviews. It became about experience. About storytelling. About helping people find not just a meal, but a moment worth sharing.

And now, as Ramadan arrives once again, Azeez feels that responsibility more strongly than ever. This is the season when food carries meaning. When the first sip of water after a long fast feels sacred. When families search not just for “the best buffet,” but for a place where they can sit together and feel at peace.

Azeez shapes his content around that rhythm. He highlights iftar buffets and affordable family-friendly deals. He visits Ramadan-only stalls that emerge for a few short weeks each year. He explores late-night suhoor spots where conversations stretch into the early hours. But more than simply documenting dishes, he captures the spirit behind them: the reunion of friends, the gratitude in shared meals, the warmth that defines this month.

The Platform That Amplified the Passion

While Azeez’s passion built the foundation for Level Bite, TikTok provided the scale. For him, the platform offered possibilities as much as visibility, and he is grateful to this.

“TikTok has played a major role in my growth as a creator,” he says plainly. What stands out most to him is the equal opportunity the platform creates. On TikTok, reach is not dictated solely by follower count. A well-crafted video can travel far beyond an existing audience. Through TikTok’s features and creative tools, Azeez found himself reaching new viewers across Sri Lanka - people he would never have connected with otherwise. It allowed him to experiment with different storytelling styles, refine his presentation, and transform simple food reviews into engaging short-form narratives.

More importantly, it opened a direct line to his audience. Comments became conversations. Viewers began recommending places, tagging friends, debating menu choices, and sharing their own dining experiences. The page soon shifted from a one-way broadcast to a shared conversation spot! According to Azeez, that interactivity is what makes TikTok powerful, especially around something as universal as food. During Ramadan, that sense of connection intensifies. People are actively searching for places to break their fast. They rely on recommendations. They trust shared experiences. Through shares, comments, and reposts, information moves quickly, turning a single video into a meeting point.

“TikTok makes it easy to bring together people who share common interests like food, culture, and festive celebrations,” he explains. “It turns content into conversations, and conversations into community.”

Why This Month Feels Different

For Azeez, Ramadan changes the tone of everything, especially on TikTok. The engagement shifts. The comments become more intentional. The messages carry gratitude. There is a different emotional weight to the content during this month. “Ramadan is not just about food. It’s about unity, gratitude, and sharing,” he says.

He notices that followers are not simply scrolling for entertainment. They are actively searching for the right place to gather, for promotions that suit their families, for spaces where they can break fast comfortably. In many ways, Level Bite becomes a small guide during a deeply meaningful season. That responsibility is not lost on him. He hopes his content makes the search easier. More exciting. More trustworthy. He hopes families discover new flavours and create memories they will carry long after the month ends. Because in the end, what stays with people is not the price of a buffet or the size of a portion - it is who they sat with, what they spoke about and the warmth they felt.

Level Bite is not seeing Ramadan as ‘just another seasonal-content opportunity’. To him and his team, it is a time to guide people toward places that deserve to be experienced, and to remind followers that sometimes, the most meaningful connections begin with a single bite.
