The Department of Posts yesterday said the delivery of postal parcels will be done every other day.
Deputy Postmaster General Premachandra Herath told media that the decision was taken as a measure to address the ongoing global fuel crisis.
Accordingly, long distance postal deliveries from Colombo will take place every other day, on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.
Postal deliveries will take place covering the areas from Colombo to Jaffna through Vavuniya, Colombo through Polonnaruwa to Batticaloa, Colombo to Badulla and Colombo to Kandy.
Deliveries from long-distance areas to Colombo and suburbs will also take place every other day accordingly.
