Ananda College Under-13 boys and Kalutara Balika Vidyalaya Under-13 girls emerged as champions in their respective divisions at the Sri Lanka Inter-School Tennis Tournament, organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Tennis Association (SLSTA), continued at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts in Colombo.
In the Boys’ Under-13 Division I final, Ananda College defeated St. Joseph’s College, Maradana, 3-1 to claim the championship title. Ananda College showed resilience in the semi-finals, overcoming S. Thomas’ College in a nail-biting 3-2 victory.
Kalutara Balika Vidyalaya, meanwhile, dominated the Girls’ Under-13 Division II final, beating Visakha Vidyalaya’s A team 3-1. They also secured a 3-1 victory over Newstead College, Negombo, in the semi-finals, solidifying their position as the overall Division II champions.
In the boys’ categories, Ananda College A was crowned the Division I Boys’ Champion, while St. Joseph’s College finished as runners-up. Nalanda College clinched the Division I Plate Championship, and Richmond College, Galle, was the Plate Runner-up.
The Boys’ Division II competition saw St. Michael’s College, Batticaloa, triumph as champions, defeating Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, in the final. Zahira College took home the Division II Plate Championship, with Ananda College B as Plate Runners-up. De Mazenod College, Kandana, won the Bowl Championship, with Nalanda College finishing as Bowl Runners-up.
In the Girls’ Division II, Kalutara Balika Vidyalaya claimed the championship title, with Visakha Vidyalaya A as runners-up. Musaeus College secured the Plate Championship, and Visakha Vidyalaya B finished as Plate Runners-up.
