Algama and Norton lead Sri Lanka to a strong finish

Sri Lanka’s rising golf stars, Reshan Algama and Jacob Norton, impressed at the Black Mountain Asian Junior Masters Golf 2025, in Hua Hin Thailand competing against some of the best junior golfers in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the 15 to 22 age group category, Reshan Algama finished in 20th place, posting consistent scores of 81, 78, and 73 over the three rounds. His solid performance in the final round, where he shot a 73, highlighted his ability to handle the challenging course.

Jacob Norton, competing in his second overseas tournament, was placed 32nd with scores of 77, 78, and 81. Together, the two golfers helped Sri Lanka achieve a total score of 463, placing them 11th out of 16 teams.

The event was dominated by South Korea, who secured the top two spots, while Thailand finished third.

Despite the strong competition, Sri Lanka outperformed several countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, marking a significant achievement for the team.
