Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka Private Ltd. (AASL) recorded the highest monthly passenger movements in its history, handling 1,045,097 passengers through Sri Lanka Airports in January this year.

In January, AASL showed record tourist arrivals, with peaks exceeding 10,000 in a single day. This resulted in the figure exceeding the previous record of 1,034,687 passengers set in January 2018.

According to AASL, the increase reflects continued recovery and expansion in the country’s aviation and tourism sectors, supported by higher airline activity, improved airport operations and growing traveller confidence.
