Jaffna Central College will meet St. John’s College Jaffna in the “118th Battle of the North” annual cricket encounter at Jaffna Central College grounds on March 6,7,8.

The Battle of the North is the oldest playing big match in the Jaffna peninsula. St. John’s College Jaffna lead the series with 39 wins and Jaffna Central College has recorded only 29 wins so far. 41 matches have been drawn.

St. John’s won last year 2024 under Nesakumar Ebenezer Jezial and Jaffna Central College won for the last time in 2023 under K. Sabesan.

Jeyachandran Ashnath will lead the St. John’s College Jaffna and Sri Lanka youth cap Ranjith Kumar Newton will skipper the Jaffna Central College. (YK)
