SriLankan Airlines has temporarily suspended all flights between Katunayake and Riyadh scheduled for October 8, 9 and 10 following the closure of Riyadh airport by Saudi Arabia amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
SriLankan Airlines Head of Corporate Communications Deepal Perera said the suspension was implemented in response to the airport closure following attacks launched by Iran.
He said the airline may be compelled to extend the suspension if Saudi Arabia decides to keep Riyadh airport closed due to the prevailing security situation.
Passengers who have already purchased tickets to Riyadh have been advised to contact their respective travel agents, call the SriLankan Airlines hotline on 1979, visit www.srilankan.com or make inquiries at Katunayake Airport for further information.
