Sri Lanka–Nordic Business Council hosts Members’ Day and panel discussion on skills, start-ups and innovation

The Sri Lanka–Nordic Business Council (SLNORBC) of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce hosted its Members’ Day and panel discussion under the theme “Skills, Start-ups and Innovation: Developing the Next Generation of Partnerships,”, bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from Sri Lanka and the Nordic region to discuss opportunities for collaboration in innovation-driven sectors.

The program featured keynote addresses by Lynear Wealth Management Director Sanjay Kulatunga, and 99X Technology Founder and Chairman Mano Sekaram, who shared perspectives on emerging trends in wealth management, technology entrepreneurship, and the innovation ecosystem shaping bilateral opportunities. This was followed by a presentation from Port City Colombo and a video presentation by Sweden–Sri Lanka Business Council Chairman Daniel Nordlund.

The event also featured a panel discussion on practical pathways for collaboration between Sri Lankan and Nordic businesses, with CHEC Port City Colombo Ltd., Global Capability Centres and R&D Cluster Head Hariharan Padmanaban, SLASSCOM Chairperson and hSenid Business Solutions PLC and Peoples HR CEO Sampath Jayasundara, and BOV Capital Managing Partner Prajeeth Balasubramaniam. The discussion was moderated by Arutha Executive Director and Co-Founder Yolani Fernando. The proceedings concluded with the presentation of gifts to the speakers, closing remarks by the Sri Lanka-Nordic Business Council President, and a networking reception.

The Members’ Day and Panel Discussion reflect SLNORBC’s continued commitment to strengthening economic and commercial ties between Sri Lanka and the Nordic countries, with a particular focus on nurturing skills development, entrepreneurship, and innovation as pillars for future collaboration.
