Sri Lanka Netballers go out with confidence against Maldives

We wanted to go to a semi final with an unbeaten record and hope to do well against Maldives in last group match today (25) said Sri Lanka Netball head coach P.D.N Prasadi in an exclusive interview with the Daily News yesterday.

I am very happy to see my players really perform well during all five group matches to get win which gave more confidence to go forward at this Asia Cup Netball championship.

We came here without International exposure but after playing five group matches we have more confidence to play the games added coach Prasadi. I have game plan to give young players a chance to give more exposure but that also according to the match situation. Senior players like Skipper Dulanigi Wannitilleka, Gayanjali Amarawansa,Gayani Dissanayake and Hasitha Mendis always give good support to young players to get good momentum during this series and Team doctor Lal Ekanayake always responsible for players fitness.

We are planning match by match and all players are having good mentality after recording five back to back wins. They knew Sri Lanka the defending champions always have balance side and good chance to win the Asia Cup three in a row. We knew our former Goal shooter Tharjini Shivalingam did fine job to get success but this time Thisala Algama is doing agood job as the Goal shooter and all players gave their best effort to go forward.

Skipper Dulanigi Wannitilleka and her team has good commitment while our bench also very strong to replace to the regulars at any time added coach Prasadi a former National skipper led the team to get Asia Cup.

As a team defending champions all other opponents have paid special attention to our team but we never build up any pressure and we know our strength and want to go forward concluded head coach Prasadi.
