Sri Lanka Insurance Life Calls Applications for Suba Pathum Scholarships

Sri Lanka Insurance Life (SLIC Life), the Nation's insurer, has consistently contributed to the betterment of the country's future generations. As one of the most profitable state-owned enterprises, SLIC Life is also a responsible corporate citizen, actively enriching the communities in which it operates in.

In 2014, SLIC Life initiated the ‘Sri Lanka Insurance Life Suba Pathum Scholarship’ program for the children of its Life policyholders across the country. To date, this initiative has awarded over 2,200 scholarships, worth more than Rs. 240 million.

This year the scholarship scheme will be rewarding 246 students, who excelled in the Grade 5 Scholarship, GCE Ordinary Level and GCE Advanced Level examinations.

Eligible students for the Subapathum Scholarship, based on their performance in the Grade 5 Scholarship, GCE Ordinary Level, and GCE Advanced Level examinations, will receive financial scholarships of Rs. 20,000 for five years, Rs. 40,000 for three years, and Rs. 50,000 for two years, respectively.

Taking the initiative further, SLIC Life has expanded the Suba Pathum Scholarship programme this year to recognise exceptional academic excellence beyond its policyholders. Students who have secured 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place at national level in any stream at the 2024 GCE Advanced Level Examination are eligible to apply under this special category. These outstanding achievers will be awarded a one-time scholarship grant of Rs. 150,000 in recognition of their remarkable accomplishment.

Applications can now be submitted through the SLIC Life website on or before 31st of March 2026. Only online applications will be considered for this scholarship program.
