A record 116 junior golfers will tee off in the PRIMA Sunrise Bread Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship, organised by Sri Lanka Golf, starting today at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. The three-round tournament runs until December 12.
Top Sri Lankan junior golfers, including Reshan Algama, Jevahn Sathasivam, Adithya Weerasinghe, Jacob Norton, and Varun Fernando, will headline the Boys’ Gold Division from the challenging Black Tee Markers, with 24 players battling for supremacy.
Sri Lanka’s top-ranked junior golfer, Kaya Daluwatte, will compete in the Girls’ Gold/Silver Division from the Red Tee Markers, alongside 18 talented players striving for top honours.
The tournament also features a competitive Bronze Division for boys and girls aged 11-12, playing 14 holes from the Yellow Tee Markers, with 27 entries in this category.
The youngest group, the Copper Division for players aged 10 and under, will play nine holes from the Pink Tee Markers. Rising stars like Jaeden Sathasivam and Abiman Abeywardhane are among the 30 participants aiming for victory.
