Project to conserve one million endangered plants

Planet protectors organization a unique organization that is carrying out a number of projects like creation of Nalanda reserve, forest conservation centers, ocean conservation projects, Earth Summit and as the first project of this organization, the Nalanda Reserve was created for the conservation of Sri Lankan plants that are extinct from the earth, and 3000 plants were planted to create a reserve and the plants that are endemic to Sri Lanka that are extinct from the earth, especially those that have great medicinal value.

Selection of plants and one million of them, planting them in natural growing areas and conserving them. A unique ecosystem with a great biodiversity, with the aim of adding great value to this earth in the future, to direct the future generations to it and to raise environment-friendly children. The second program of the organization’s move to join hands with schools in the island was held on September 30 together with Colombo 3 Mahanama College. This was spearheaded by the Mahanama College Leo Club 2024/25 Executive Committee.

On this special occasion, the founder of planet protectors, Ven Ananda Sirii Thera, Administrator Prof. Sarath Kotagamu, Deputy Prof. Wasantha Liyanage and many distinguished guests participated in this event. Principal of Mahanama College Prabhath Vithanage, Executive Committee of Mahanama Leo Club 2024/25 and nearly 1,000 children participated in this.
