The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced that fuel distribution to dealers will proceed normally tomorrow and the following day, assuring the public that there are no plans to close filling stations during this period.
Managing Director Mayura Neththikumara clarified that recent circulating reports suggesting the closure of CPC operations this Saturday are unfounded. He explained that such claims may stem from the routine monthly practice where the CPC remains closed on one Saturday each month.
Given the current circumstances and the upcoming reset of QR code fuel quotas scheduled for Saturday night, Neththikumara assured that the CPC will continue its full operations. He further stated that fuel distribution could also be carried out on Sunday if necessary, as there are no logistical barriers to doing so.
The CPC’s storage arm, Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL), has also confirmed it will carry out distribution activities this Saturday to ensure a steady supply of fuel across the country.
The Managing Director urged the public to refrain from unnecessary panic buying, emphasizing that no decisions have been made to close filling stations and that fuel supplies will remain uninterrupted.
