15Maanasa Madubashana of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo, scored a century against St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa, in the semi-final of the Under-19 Division 1 Tier A 2-Day Inter-School Cricket Tournament 2024/25, conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and sponsored by Sri Lanka Cricket, at Samadhi Grounds in Anuradhapura yesterday.
St. Sebastian’s College finished the day at 4 for no loss. St. Joseph’s College posted 270 runs in 84.3 overs, with the first four wickets falling for just 13 runs. Maanasa Madubashana and Yenula Dewthusa then put on a 167-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Madubashana scored 116 runs off 180 balls (12 boundaries), while Dewthusa made 74 runs from 175 balls, with 6 boundaries. Adesh Almeida took 6 wickets for 47 runs. The match will continue today (13) for day two.
