The 25th edition of the packaging hallmark event in South Asia, Lankapak Exhibition concluded yesterday at BMICH. The event was inaugurated on Friday (25) with the participation of the Secretary to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, Cooperative Development, Industry and Entrepreneurship Development M. M. Nayamudeen as the chief guest.
This event was organized by Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging (SLIP) for the betterment of the packaging industry in Sri Lanka together with the CDC Events and Travels (Pvt) Ltd. The theme for this year was “Unpack Potential in Packaging”
The annual event consisted of the Annual Packaging Congress, Lanka 5P and Lanka Paper Expo 2024. “Lankapak” 25th edition was backed by both the state and private sector which aims to reach new heights by setting international standards, making it a mega event in Sri Lanka.
One of the significant aims of this event is to promote sustainable and eco-friendly packaging solutions. The event showcased the latest innovations designed to address the challenges of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in the packaging industry. Through cutting edge technologies and materials, the participants were able to explore how the industry can reduce its environmental footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Polydime Plastics (Pvt) Ltd powered the event as the principal sponsor while Trans Continental Package, Krishna Tissues (Pvt) Ltd and ADAD Traders (Pvt) Ltd became the gold sponsor. PGP Glass Ceylon PLC and FMJ Plastics (Pvt) Ltd were the silver sponsors for the event. All the events brought together leading professionals and experts in the packaging industry to discuss new trends (inventions) in packaging, sustainability and challenges faced by the packaging industry and food packaging.
