ISMM-EFL 3PL Global-JKLL-Insee partner to elevate supply chain excellence

The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM), the national professional body for supply chain management education in Sri Lanka, has entered into a strategic partnership with EFL 3PL Global, John Keells Logistics (JKLL) and Siam City Cement (Insee) to strengthen the country’s supply chain ecosystem. 

This landmark collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering sustainable growth, professional development and cutting-edge supply chain solutions.

The memorandum of understanding was formally signed by ISMM President Jayantha Gallehewa, EFL 3PL Global Chief Executive Officer Nishan Hewagamage, JKLL Chief Executive Officer Lasitha Manchanayake, Siam City Cement (Lanka) Limited Chief Operating Officer and ISMM Business Development Committee Chairman Thusith Gunawarnasuriya.

The signing ceremony was attended by distinguished officials, including ISMM Business Development Committee Secretary Dilshan Silva, ISMM and OPA Immediate Past President Sarath Gamage, ISMM Vice Presidents Lilantha Subasinghe, Maj. Gen. Renaka Udawatta (Rtd), Dimuka Hemantha, General Secretary Dr. Sanath Divakara, EFL General Manager Marketing and Business Development Pandula Silva, General Manager Data Science and Solutions Tusitha Gamage, Manager Strategy and Planning Vahiny Sivakumaran, JKLL Head of Strategy and Growth Hasitha Hewage, Head of HR Operations Maliyadewa Ranasinghe, Manager Business Development Naadira Jumat, Insee General Manager Outbound Logistics Hiyan Perera, Manager Procurement Imports Krishantha Prasad and Manager Procurement Dileepa Fernando.

Scope of collaboration

This structured partnership is designed to provide long-term benefits to the ISMM members and employees of partner organisations through:

  • Sustainable industry-academic partnerships – Establishing a formal, structured collaboration that aligns with mutual industry and academic goals.
  • Priority access for the ISMM students – Facilitating internships and job placements within the partner organisations, providing students with practical, hands-on industry experience.
  • Customised training programmes – Delivering specialised professional development programmes at exclusive rates to enhance the skills and capabilities of supply chain professionals.
  • Industry exposure for the ISMM students – Organising field visits to partner facilities, offering first-hand insights into real-world logistics and supply chain operations.
