ESOFT Metro Campus with LEAP Foundation awards scholarships worth Rs.55mn

In an effort to contribute to Sri Lanka’s talent pool through accessible globally recognised qualifications, ESOFT Metro Campus, Sri Lanka’s leading private higher education network, together with the LEAP Foundation awarded 50 students from across the country with scholarships worth Rs.55 million.

The scholarships, awarded both in full and half, cover various disciplines such as business management, IT, law, tourism and hospitality services and quantity surveying. The recipients will enjoy a complete waiver of fees throughout their degree programme while those receiving half scholarship will only need to cover 50 percent of the cost.

The model is based on students being allowed to earn their qualifications and repay the amount granted without interest. The students will have the flexibility to begin repayment one year after completing their degree, with the full amount to be repaid over three to five years.

The scholarships were awarded at a ceremony held on August 30 at the BMICH. The keynote addresses were delivered by LEAP Foundation Founder President and ESOFT Metro Campus Chairman and Group Dr. Dayan Rajapakse and former Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha.

The LEAP Foundation, guided by the ‘Learn, Earn and Pay’ philosophy, was founded by Dr. Dayan Rajapakse as a non-profit organisation to connect with organisations and other stakeholders to develop a self-sustainable student study support scheme. This enables graduates to be work-ready, equipping themselves with the required skills and competencies to face the future with confidence.

The LEAP Foundation extends its invitation to all universities, educational institutions and professionals both locally and internationally to come on board and become a transformative force in the lives of future Sri Lankan leaders. Your funding and support will allow the LEAP Foundation to further enhance the opportunities given to deserving students.
