Earl’s Regent Hotel Negombo owned and operated by Earls Group of Hotels which opened in 2022 November will add and open their second wing with rooms and banquet facilities on December 15.
The management invested Rs. 850 million for the first stage which include 31 rooms and two suites which are equipped with modern imported amenities. Both General Manager Kavidu Caldera and Resident Manager, Mahesh Gunasekera disclosed that the new wing would include 33 rooms and one presidential suite and 5 executive suites. In addition 300 cover banquet halls too would be added making it a good property to host large MICE events.
In addition a roof top restaurant too would be introduced to accommodate around 100 guests making it an ideal location to host private functions. Two more bars and a Spa too would be added. The Earls Regent Negombo also has a 24 hour reception and a large restaurant and bar area and a swimming pool and a large garden area spread in an one acre of land. The duo said that their main market is European with an average stay around 4 days, airport traffic as well as locals especially during the holidays and weekends.
The two managers also said that for the first time they would be introducing the ‘long stay’ packages that are offered in the Southern province to the property. This will help us to increase guest nights from average two to five to the hotel. Earl’s Regent Hotel Negombo will also offer special theme nights to attract more walk in guests to dine and wine at the hotel.
The addition of the room inventory will also increase the staff strength to over 100. “They also now receive around Rs 40,000 plus as service charges”
