The finals of the DSI School Volleyball Championship, sponsored by D Samson and Sons (Pvt) Ltd, are scheduled to take place today and tomorrow at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
The competition will feature six exciting finals today, followed by four more tomorrow, displaying the best young volleyball talent in Sri Lanka across five age categories.
Today’s finals will cover the Under-11, Under-13, and Under-15 age groups for both boys and girls, with matches scheduled throughout the day.
Tomorrow, the action will continue with the Under-17 and Under-19 finals, ending in the much-anticipated Under-19 Boys final and prize-giving ceremony, which will be attended by Prime Minister and Education Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
The finals today are as follows: at 8:30 AM, the Under-11 Girls final will feature Dhammissara National School, Nattandiya against Sri Rahula Vidyalaya, Anuradhapura. This will be followed by the Under-11 Boys final at 9:30 AM between Dhammissara National School and Reji Ranatunga Vidyalaya, Minuwangoda. At 10:30 AM, the Under-13 Girls final will see Dhammissara National School take on Mabima Vidyakara Maha Vidyalaya, Gampaha, and at 11:30 AM, the Under-13 Boys final will feature Dhammissara National School against Sri Sena Vidyalaya, Imbulana. The afternoon session will begin at 2:00 PM with the Under-15 Girls final between Vijayaba Central College, Maho and Vijayaba National School, Hungama. The last final of the day will be the Under-15 Boys match between Dhammissara National School and Rajasinghe Central College, Ruwanwella at 4:00 PM.
Tomorrow’s finals will start with the Under-17 Girls final at 8:30 AM between Wickramashila National School, Giriulla, and continue with the Under-17 Boys final at 10:30 AM, where Dhammissara National School will face President’s College, Nattandiya. At 1:00 PM, the Under-19 Girls final will be held between Vijayaba National School, Hungama and Rajasinghe Central College, Ruwanwella, followed by the Under-19 Boys final at 3:00 PM between Rajasinghe Central College, Ruwanwella and Pannala National School.
