Crepe Runner goes global: Expanding to India, Qatar, Maldives and Philippines

What started as a simple food truck rolling through the streets of Colombo has become something much bigger. Crepe Runner, Sri Lanka’s favorite crepe brand, has officially gone global. With branches now open in India and Qatar, two successful outlets already thriving in the Maldives, and big plans to hit the Philippines soon, the journey has only just begun. This isn’t just another QSR story. It’s about taking Sri Lankan flavors, culture, and hustle to the world stage. Most of our outlets are company-owned and operated, but Qatar marks our first step into franchising. We’re exploring and doubling down on the franchise path, building on all the expertise we’ve gained over the years. With groundbreaking SOPs and an extraordinary operational model, global expansion for Crepe Runner is as seamless as plug-and-play.

“We’ve been through it all, the Easter attacks, COVID-19, the economic crisis, you name it. Every challenge a startup could face, we faced it. But we stayed in the game. We worked our tails off to de-risk our business and create a plug-and-play model that works anywhere. Scaling in the QSR world is no joke. It’s hard, intense, and full of roadblocks. But we’ve stayed obsessed with the mission—listening to customers, adapting, and pushing forward. This isn’t just about growth. It’s about creating moments, leaving a legacy, and showing the world what Sri Lanka can do. We’re the ONLY Sri Lankan QSR brand doing this globally, and it feels unreal. We’re just getting started, and we’re fired up for what’s next. Let’s keep making Sri Lanka proud,” says founder Abdus Salaam. “The Philippines is an exciting step for us. The people there love food, and we can’t wait to bring them a taste of what we’re all about,” Salaam added. With every new branch and every new country, Crepe Runner is proving that the dream of going global isn’t just possible, it’s happening. And this is only the beginning.
