Cabinet approves Lufthansa Technik for SriLankan Airlines engine repairs

Colombo, Feb 05 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet has approved awarding the contract for repairing CFM 56-5B engines of SriLankan Airlines to Lufthansa Technik (LHT)/Hamburg for four years.

CFM56-5B engines, typically found on Airbus A320 aircraft operated by SriLankan Airlines, will undergo repair and maintenance. 

International competitive bids were called, with seven bids received for the contract. 

Following recommendations from the Technical Evaluation Committee and the Standing Procurement Committee, the Cabinet approved the proposal presented by the President in his capacity as Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, awarding the contract to Lufthansa Technik, the lowest responsive bidder for the repairing of CFM 56-5B engines of SirLankan Airline Services Limited and the contract for the maintenance, repairing and operation overhaul.
