The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) will hold its 26th Annual Tax Oration on October 30, at 5.30 pm onwards at the CA Sri Lanka Auditorium in Colombo 07.
This year’s oration will be delivered by Dr. Shivaji Felix, President’s Counsel, on the topic ‘The Tax Conundrum, Democracy and the Rule of Law’. The event is expected to gather Chartered Accountants, professionals, and policymakers. The Annual Tax Oration is one of CA Sri Lanka’s key events, attracting many tax professionals and members of the public interested in tax-related topics. It provides a platform to discuss important issues related to taxation and governance.
A special highlight of the event will be the presentation of a medallion to the orator, sponsored by Esmond Satarasinghe, a member of CA Sri Lanka’s first council. Satarasinghe has also served as a member of the Income Tax Board of Review.
This year’s oration will provide valuable insights into the challenges surrounding taxation and its connection to democracy and the rule of law, making it an important event for those interested in the future of tax policies in Sri Lanka.
