Sri Lanka has received a $695mn disbursement from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under its Extended Fund Facility programme.
The funds were credited to the Treasury following the completion of the fifth and sixth reviews of Sri Lanka’s economic reform programme.
The latest disbursement brings total IMF funding received under the programme to about $2.4bn.
The IMF said Sri Lanka’s reform programme has continued despite challenges, while noting that global economic uncertainties could affect growth prospects.
