UoP marks Pi Day with student programme

The Department of Mathematics of the University of Peradeniya recently organised a full-day outreach programme for about 100 students from Grades nine and 10 representing 20 schools to mark Pi Day and the International Day of Mathematics. Conducted in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Education of the Central Province, the event was aimed at drawing attention to the importance, beauty and curiosity of mathematics through a series of interactive activities and engaging sessions. Students received valuable first-hand exposure to mathematical thinking beyond the classroom environment.
