Tourist arrivals up in October

Tourist arrivals from October 1 to 20, 2024 totalled 85,836 indicating that the country is also going in for another productive month of arrivals.

Total arrivals which were at 1,487,303 in the entire year of 2023 so far have increased to 1,570,644 up to October 20. Many analyses say that the travel advisories that were imposed due to a threat on Israel tourists would not have a major native impact to the tourism industry.

“This is because the government and security forces took swift action to curb the situation. India with 23,677 arrivals in October so far accounting for 27.6% of arrivals was the top source market while the United Kingdom (6,543) and China (5767) followed.
