SriLankan Airlines has issued an urgent warning after a fraudulent message, falsely claiming to be from the airline, began circulating on WhatsApp and Facebook.
The scam message uses the airline’s logo and images to appear genuine, but urges users to click on suspicious links and share personal details.
The airline clarified that it does not request personal information or payments via social media platforms.
They advised the public not to click on unfamiliar links or share sensitive data like NIC numbers, passport details, OTPs, or card information with unverified sources.
SriLankan Airlines emphasised that all official offers and communications are shared only through its verified channels, including the website, mobile app, hotline, and official social media pages.
The airline urged everyone to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of online promotions claiming to be from the airline.
