Sri Lanka received two awards at the World Health Organization’s (WHO) South Asian Regional Conference in New Delhi, recently.
Sri Lanka received two public health achievement awards for Hepatitis B control in children and achieving SDG and global targets for reduction of mortality rate of under five-year-olds and neonatal mortality and stillbirth rates.
These two awards were presented to Health Secretary Dr. Palitha Mahipala at the 77th Regional Committee Session of the WHO South-East Asia currently being held in New Delhi, India.
Ministers of Health and representatives of member countries of the region joined the conference to discuss key priorities and actions to accelerate public health.
