Skipper Suwahas propel Cambrians to 263

Prince of Wales College dominated the second day of the Battle of the Golds Inter-School Big Match against traditional rivals St. Sebastian’s College, which continued at the De Soysa Stadium in Moratuwa yesterday.

The Cambrians went on to take a good first innings lead over their opponents as they made an impressive 263 runs after having resumed their innings on six for no loss.

Skipper and middle order batsman Suwahas Fernando led the charge for Prince of Wales with a solid 77 from 145 balls inclusive of seven boundaries.

Malintha Silva (5/100) and Koshendra Fernando (3/82) were the successful bowlers for St. Sebastian’s as they shared seven wickets between them.
