Seylan Bank Supports Inclusive Education with Donation to WP/PIL School for the Deaf, Ratmalana

Reaffirming its commitment to inclusive education and community empowerment, Seylan Bank donated a smart board and a suite of carpentry tools to the WP/PIL School for the Deaf, Ratmalana on 5th May 2026, supporting the educational and vocational development of hearing-impaired students.

The donation is expected to significantly enhance the students’ learning experiences by supporting modern teaching methods and encouraging practical skill development. The smart board is set to enable more interactive and engaging classroom sessions. The carpentry tools will help students develop valuable vocational skills that will contribute towards future career opportunities and independent living.

The initiative reflects Seylan Bank’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and its dedication to fostering inclusive education opportunities across Sri Lanka. Through initiatives such as these, the Bank with a Heart continues to support academic learning while empowering students with opportunities to build confidence and self-sufficiency through the development of practical skills.

Expressing appreciation for the donation, the Principal of the WP/PIL School for the Deaf, M. Anusha I. Fernando, noted that the contribution would create meaningful impact for the students by facilitating more engaging, skills-oriented education and overall development in technologically amplified learning environments.
